This site is a tribute to John Bevis, who was born in Leeds on July 08, 1922. He is much loved and will always be remembered.  The elderly man walked slowly down the quiet, leaf strewn lane, his larch cane tapping a steady rhythm beside him. At his side trotted a loyal golden retriever, gray around the muzzle but alert and gentle-eyed. Every morning, rain or shine, they made this same walk together. The man would pause now and then, gazing at the trees or speaking softly to his companion. The doggy, as if understanding every word, would wag its tail and nudge his hand with its nose, a silent gesture of love and routine.
